Networks FAQ

Here is a list of some frequently asked questions that we have received.  The form below is available for you to submit a question that is not addressed here.  As always, if you have a pressing issue, please contact your child's teacher directly.

Q. What is the website for the book?

A.  http://www.connected.mcgraw-hill.com/

Q. How does my child know his or her logon information?

A.  They received that information from their social studies teachers.  If they have forgotten it, they can get that information from the teacher.

Q.  Are devices mandatory for in class work?

A.  No, the social studies department realizes that making a mobile device mandatory in this economic climate is unrealistic.  However, we do encourage you to look into a device if it is economically feasible for you and your family.  Please also consider that your child will be using this program from 5th through 8th grade so having a device would be beneficial for your child for the rest of his or her time at FTS.

Q.  If my child does not have a device or home internet, will he or she still be able to use the program?

A.  Yes, all of the social studies teachers are getting into the computer labs at school as often as possible to accommodate those students who may not have access either via mobile or at home.

Q.  Is the internet available for my student's device?

A.  As long as the device has a wireless connection, it can get onto the internet.  Please review the internet usage policy with your child.
